During his tenure, he has directed high school marching band, concert band, symphonic band, jazz ensembles, and has also taught courses in music theory and electronic music.
A saxophone major and woodwind doubler, Mr. Chris is currently a full time professor at the University of the Arts, where he serves as the undergraduate instrumental division head.

His Jazz and Concert bands were renowned for their consistently high levels of performance. Drew maintains a busy schedule as a composer and arranger for ensembles across the United States, Europe and Japan. His text for teaching beginning jazz improvisation, Learning Jazz Language, has been accepted for publication by Northeastern Music Publications.
Currently he is a performing member of The Music Express mixed brass ensemble and is a music adjudicator with the Cavalcade of Bands Association.
Further, he has conducted training for judges associations and assisted in the evaluation of them. He was inducted into the Cavalcade of Bands Hall of Fame in He has delivered workshops, clinics and lectures concerning instrumental music instruction, jazz improvisation, composition and orchestration.
He frequently serves as a guest conductor, adjudicator, guest lecturer, and director of music festivals in the United States, Canada, and Europe. In addition to playing, judging and consulting in the musical arena, Joe has directed 22 theatrical musicals as well as being nominated for Best Direction twice by the Perry Awards of New Jersey.

His jazz ensembles were selected to play at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Convention inand Mark is also active in the Philadelphia theater scene as a woodwind player, performing on saxophones, flutes, and clarinets.
