British Gold Sovereigns
Depending on the year of mintage, British Gold Sovereigns could have been minted in England, South Africa, India or Australia. They come in different varieties and feature st. George slaying the dragon on one side, and a British monarch on the other.
Amongst the most popular of british coins, they are available as full or half sovereigns. The full sovereigns contain about 7.98 gms of gold while the half sovereigns contains just under 4 gms of gold. We recommend the sovereigns that have been minted prior to 1935, although they all are spectacular coins and make for a great collection.
